A great deal of studies on 'Korean as a Foreign Language Education' have been carried out to establish an academic field subset of Korean language education. Various topics about Korean Language Education have been discussed. However, very few studies has ever been discussed the identity of 'Studies of Korean Education as a Foreign Language'. This article analyses the identity and academic domains of Korean Language Education as a Foreign Language by reviewing the research areas in Korean Language Education and analyzing the curriculum of 'Korean Language Education as a Foreign Language Course'. This all takes place in an effort to establish the academic sub-domains of 'Korean Education as a Foreign Language' in the field of Korean Language Education studies. (Yonsei University)
