The artificial intelligence (AI) industry has grown rapidly since the advent of generative AI, and AI services have recently been applied in real life and are expanding in scope. Major companies in the AI field, including big tech companies, are leading the research and development of pioneering AI models based on overwhelming computing power and large capital as well as the development of next-generation AI models that overcome the limitations of current AI models, such as a poor understanding of reality and excessive resource consumption. Representative trends in AI technology development include the emergence of multimodal models, the strengthening of AI҆s grasp of reality, on-device AI, low-power and lightweight models, and the development of artificial general intelligence and alternative architectures. In addition, with the development of AI technology, its use in industry and daily life is gradually expanding. Various AI services are emerging, and AI technology is being applied in various industrial fields. However, along with the development of AI, concerns are being raised about AI safety, reliability, and sustainability, and hence governments and AI researchers will need to consider and deal with these issues in future.
