The foreign direct investment into China has increased dramatically since the beginning of the 1990s. Firstly it was possible owing to the improved investment environments in China. The new investment environment was created by a series of changes of Chinese investment-related policies. Chinese government has changed and made policies in order to attract more FDI into China. Korean FDI in China has also increased. In China, in particular, Korean FDI has increased in a specific areas such as Liaoning and Pohai Rim Area. To know the reason for this, an empirical survey was conducted with 108 Korean firms which made FDI in the areas. The result of the survey are as follows. The major motive of advancing into China was the abundant cheap labor costs of the areas. It was followed by the geographical proximity to Korea. The other features of Korean firms in the areas were as follows. Firstly, most Korean firms which entered into China were labor-intensive industries. Secondly, Korean firms advanced in the areas relatively satisfied with their business. Thirdly, all FDIs made by Korean firms were made with more than 50% of the Korean firms' money.
