This paper aims to offer an overview of the development process and current issues of Korean language education in South-East Asian Countries mainly in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam. And it also suggests ways to develop Korean language education in those countries. This paper deals with the features of Korean language education in those countries and analyzes the environments that influenced it later. And it also discusses basic elements and expertise for the development of Korean language education fields. At this point, South-East Asia is one of the areas where Korean language education is developing rapidly. The scale of education is growing and the groups of learners are diversifying. As a result, the mainstream of Korean language education has changed from universities toward public education and middle and high schools. However, various efforts are needed for further development. Above all, the current environment should be utilized to show the Korean language as a beneficial language for Korean learners. And it is necessary to expand the Korean language education infrastructure and expertise. The government and the Korean language education community should cooperate to find various ways to develop Korean language education.
