This study attempted to provide basic data needed to develop a learner-centered education program for nursing students and plan customized teaching strategies in the future by identifying the teaching methods and teaching styles preferred by nursing students. The participants in this study were a convenience sample of 199 nursing students attending a 4-year nursing school located in metropolitan G and J, and the data collection period was from September 10, 2023 to September 30, 2023. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 23.0 program using descriptive statistics, Chi-Squared test, Independent t-test, ANOVA, and Scheffé test for post hoc analysis. The teaching method most preferred by nursing students was the lecture method, and the preferred teaching type was a collaborative type that emphasizes important content, detailed explanations, and emphasizes mutual cooperation. As a result of this study, it is necessary to provide teaching methods and instructor leaders that take into account the general characteristics of learners, and a program to strengthen the instructor’s capacity to practice the teaching style preferred by students should be developed.
